The analytical note presents findings regarding the sources of information and misinformation in ATU Găgăuzia through the prism of the results of a survey carried out by an initiative group of residents of the region.

 

The Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (UTAG) has a pronounced specificity within the Republic of Moldova, therefore, the events and phenomena in this region deserve a special examination, intended to contribute, both to the preservation of the socio-political diversity of the regions, and to the consolidation cohesion at national level. Just like the population of the entire country, that of UTAG is subject to the danger of misinformation.

For a deeper understanding of that phenomenon, the ADEPT Association, as part of a project supported by INTERNEWS, selected a group of people from UTAG, interested in social-political phenomena in the region and in the country, aged between 18-35, and with a high level of education. The mentioned group was involved in debates on the specific aspects of the disinformation phenomenon in the region, one of the goals being the elaboration of the questionnaire regarding: the sources of information that they mainly use; the topics of public interest most often subject to misinformation; the ways of spreading disinformation, etc. For details, we invite you to access the attached document.
