The analytical note presents the profile of the candidates for the position of deputy in the People's Assembly of Gagauzia in the September 2021 elections

On September 19, 2021, the ordinary elections for the People's Assembly of Gagauzia (APG) for the 7th legislature will be held. The election date was fixed and postponed twice. Because of this, the elections are held with a delay of at least 6 months. Initially, the elections were set for April 4, but the extended mandate of the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia (CECG) expires on March 24. Then, the elections scheduled for May 16 were postponed due to the introduction of the state of emergency against COVID-19, from April 1 to May 30. Finally, the date of the elections for the APG was set, according to international practice, at a distance of approximately two months from the anticipated parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021.
